The sixth edition of ARCHITECT@WORK, a two day event aimed at architects, designers, and specifiers, will take place at Olympia National Hall in London on the 24th and the 25th of January. It is a free admission event for registered trade visitors and it will hold complimentary catering throughout its length.
In order to be able to exhibit at the event, the product has to pass a rigorous selection process with an external judging panel that will ensure that this is one of UK’s most highly respected trade shows of its kind. More than 100 leading suppliers will showcase their innovative products and services, which will include lighting technology, surface solutions, and fixture and fittings.
This year’s theme is light and all the practical applications and the artistic endeavours related to light will be high on the agenda of the talk program.
During the first day of ARCHITECT@WORK there will be three events: ‘Living with Light’, which will showcase the effect light has in our homes, focusing on both artificial lightning and sunlight; ‘Frozen Light’, which mixed the long history of photography and architecture and will look into how this relationship has changed in the 21st century; and ‘Lighting London’ that will look into how the industry has shaped our experience with the urban landscape once the sun goes down.
On the 25th three further events will be organised. ‘Leading lights in workplace wellness’ looks into the importance of health at work and the reasons why we are behind with the design of artificial and natural lighting in the workspace. ‘What architects should know about lighting’ will feature Paul Nulty discussing the role of the lighting designer within contemporary architecture. An informed panel of speakers will present their projects and the complex issues they face in regards to cultural venues and their expectations at ‘The art of light and art’, the last event of the evening.
