The world class supplier of glass solutions, Indeglas has recently revealed that they have supplied the internal glass partitioning systems for the Scottish War Blinded Charity and their new Hawkhead Centre which is located in Paisley.
This delivery of the solutions for this project is the second successful scheme of work that has been carried out for the charity. The Cumberland-based glass solutions company has also worked on the Scottish War Blinded Charity’s Linburn Centre in West Lothian as part of a project that took place seven years ago. Indeglas used to be known as Deko Scotland, and works as a specialist contractor and sole UK distributor of products that have been supplied by the award-winning glass manufacturer, Deko of Denmark.
The company now known as Indeglas has been established for 17 years and works to distribute and install glass solutions throughout the UK. The company is known for being the only full service, Category 1 subcontractor that is able to source, design and install the leading-edge glass technologies that are supplied by Deko.
The completion of the work at the Hawkhead Centre demonstrates another precisely executed project for the company’s team of engineers and operatives. The charity’s new centre will be mainly used by veterans who have visual impairments. Because of the needs of those using the facility, it was vital that light was transferred at high level. Therefore, all of the internal glazing was designed and fitted as clerestory panels, which allows for the natural light to enhance the interior of the building at high level while also working avoiding any glare or creating any confusing reflective surfaces at eye level.
The project has led to the creation of 150 new jobs, and 100 military veterans have already signed up with the intention of using the facility alongside the residents of the nearby Royal Blind facility, Jenny’s Well.
