As a part of an innovative new development located on Salford Quays, the window film and signage experts, Lustalux have completed work on the exterior of the Boatshed. This modern dark exterior has received bright new signage painted onto the facade of the building. The overall bold black and yellow look is striking.
Lustalux is a Lancashire-based company that has been working for more than 20 years to supply and install commercial window film, vinyl graphics, manifestations and signage throughout the UK. The waterfront of Salford Quays has undergone a dramatic development, with a great deal of refurbishment works carried out in both internally and externally. The result is a range of incredible flexible working spaces in the standout building. The property developer for this waterside project were Urban Splash, who were looking to create something that stayed ahead of the market and exceeding expectations while offering a range of brilliant spaces to work in.
The architects for the Boat Shed development was R2 Architecture and the director of this practice, Richard Eastwood has praised the window film and signage experts for their professionalism and proactivity. Richard has said that Lustalux were a pleasure to work with and their amazing work allowed the architect’s ideas to be brought to fruition.
Before the refurbishment of this building was carried out, the Boat Shed has a tires 1990’s-style red brick facade. Now that this has been replaced with a striking exterior and the interior has also been altered to new flexible working spaces that has already proved to be popular. The space has already secured a range of new tenants such as Lupo, Environmental Services Design, Consumer Reclaim, Care UK and the Training Room.
Lustalux were able to create such a sharp finished with the facade by working with an urban commercial artist as well as a mural painter to create the outlines of giant numbers on the sides of the buildings then worked to fill in the outlines using exterior grade paint.
