The East Midlands fba Awards will take place this year on the 12th of October at the City Rooms in Leicester. The Awards event takes place to celebrate the best developments taking place throughout the Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. The awards and the event are sponsored by a range of different companies and the compère for the evening has been announced as Rugby Union legend Peter Wheeler.
The main sponsor of this year’s East Midlands fba Awards is building company DW Hicks. The drinks reception this year is sponsored by the consulting engineer company BSD. The awards given out on the evening are also sponsored, with consulting development engineers M-EC sponsoring the Non-Residential Award and Arthur J Gallagher the insurance company sponsoring the Regeneration Award. The Residential Award this year is sponsored by the building solutions company J Tomlinson and Duncan & Toplis will be sponsoring the Rising Star Award.
Peter Wheeler the MC for the even has played 349 games for Leicester Tigers as a part of a successful playing career as a captain of his club and on England. -Peter is a prominent figure in the rugby world, but also across the East Midlands too. Peter Wheeler is also the Honorary President of the charity Wooden Spoon for Leicester, which, for the first time ever, the fba Awards evening will be supporting.
Wooden Spoon is a worthy and amazing Rugby charity that raises money so they can offer Rugby coaching to disabled and disadvantaged children. The exceptional work carried out by the charity has transformed the lives of a number of young people throughout the UK and Ireland by giving them the opportunity to play such a brilliant sport.
This awards evening will be a great opportunity to celebrate this year’s development projects and offer the industry professionals attending the event a chance to network and develop new business relationships as well as raising money for a worthy charity.
