L&Q have announced the launch of a new project. The leading residential developer has launched 59 new one, two and three bedroom apartments that will be available for private rent. The properties will be located at Stadium Place which is the organisation’s regeneration of the Walthamstow Dog Stadium. This award-winning regeneration will now hold Lingfield Apartments, which will be a part of L&Q’s ambition to create and deliver 25,000 homes for the Private Rented Sector, the business’s long term target. If the projects in the company’s pipeline are all successfully developed, the housing association will become one of the largest provider of private rented houses in the country.
This long and challenging regeneration saw the art-deco façade of the building lit for the first time since the building closed eight years ago. The project required 350 pieces of glass and were painstakingly installed by local crafts men. The use of local craftsmen in this regeneration means that the local economy will have received a boost from the project. Historical England and the architects HTA Design worked closely with L&Q in order to deliver a faithful renovation of the original lights. These lights were originally installed in 1951 in order to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, which occurred the following year.
Inside the properties L&Q have finished the development to a high standard. The new homes will come equipped with contemporary gloss kitchens as well as a variety of Zanussi integrated appliances. The bathrooms in the properties have been installed in a range of pristine sanitaryware by Roca. The hallways and living spaces have an oak effect laminate flooring. Each master bedroom also holds fitted sliding mirror wardrobes.
