WOW!house 2024 at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour is set to take place from Monday 4 June – Thursday 4 July 2024.
Bespoke kitchen makers Martin Moore and boutique interior design duo Studio Vero have joined forces for WOW!house 2024, combining expert furniture making with innovative design to create a unique kitchen that is inviting, elegant and simply beautiful; a space that many could envisage in their own homes.
Since their inception 50 years ago, Martin Moore have designed and built outstanding bespoke furniture, expertly handmade in their Yorkshire workshops by skilled craftsmen utilising traditional methods. Sharing a passion for fine craftsmanship and bespoke design, Martin Moore and Studio Vero are the perfect collaborative pairing, with both maker and designer holding the same ethos and vision.
To mark their 50th anniversary, Martin Moore will be unveiling a brand new collection featuring sleek lines and a restrained aesthetic. Crafted from natural timber in a pale washed finish, the simplicity and natural beauty of the cabinetry offered the perfect palette for Studio Vero to flex their creative muscles.
“Our new collection was created to celebrate our golden anniversary, and its contemporary, architectural elegance teamed with luxurious materials makes it perfect for today’s open-plan homes. We know it will look dazzling combined with Studio Vero’s distinctive aesthetic,” says Richard Moore, Design Director of Martin Moore.
Renowned for their use of texture and colour, Studio Vero have devised a sophisticated and rich palette of green, terracotta and tobacco combined with warm tones of natural wood. Luxurious elements, such as striking green worktops, are perfectly complemented by antique brass finishes for a dash of vintage flair.
Combined with state-of-the-art Gaggenau appliances and modern kitchen essentials, this retro style has been cleverly reimagined and elevated for contemporary living. A standout feature is a striking tiled island in a deep shade of tobacco, which brings a touch of glamour and playfulness to the room. Inspired by the opulent designs of European café bars, the island is a centrepiece for the room, providing a stylish area for socialising, drinking and eating.
Texture plays an important role in this kitchen, with tactile worktops, tiles and cabinets creating a kitchen that feels as good as it looks. Every element, no matter how subtle, is meticulously considered for a harmonious design: a bullnose edge on the worktops brings softness to the linear cabinetry, and the hardwood floor contains subtle streaks of black to complement the quartz. It is a masterclass in complementary materials, colours and textures.
Incorporated into the design is an adjoining wine room. An ever-popular kitchen addition, the wine room is housed within glass walls and features innovative lighting, adding a layer of luxurious glamour to the kitchen.
“We were absolutely thrilled to be asked to participate in WOW!house 2024: we’ve watched it over the last few years and had it in our sights as something we’d love to be involved with,” says Studio Vero. “We know how popular it has become in such a short time, so when we were asked by Martin Moore to collaborate, we felt incredibly honoured, and it also feels timely as a celebration of our 10th anniversary of Studio Vero. Of all the rooms we could have been asked to create, we are delighted to be doing a kitchen, since it is such an important space in any home and one where people spend a lot of time, and one where we can inject a little of our signature magic. We know and love Martin Moore’s designs having worked with them on projects before, so it’s an exciting opportunity to partner with them in such a creative way.”
