Luxury Vinyl flooring manufacturing firm Moduleo has supported DIY SOS for a third time, to help remodel the family home of a young boy suffering from cerebral palsy.
The programme, which aired at 8pm on Thursday 29 September on BBC One, showed the Verdon Oak flooring from Moduleo’s Transform collection chosen for Isaac Smith’s family home in Derby.
Increased space was a key part of the renovation, so a single storey extension was added to the back of the house to feature a more accessible bedroom and a wet room for Isaac, who previously slept on a hospital bed in the family living room. The extension also includes a space for a carer to sleep overnight, to provide a much-needed rest for Isaac’s parents, Andy and Rachel.
Managing Director of Moduleo UK and Eire, David Bigland, commented: “We were thrilled to be able to support DIY SOS on another inspiring project for a family in need.
“The work the team has done up and down the country has been a huge success in helping to improve so many lives, and we feel honoured to have worked with them on so many projects.”
Moduleo’s Verdon Oak was chosen for the extension, along with upgrades to the ground floor, because of its unrivalled durability and high-level slip resistance features, which makes it the ideal surface for easy maintenance and wheelchairs.
David concluded: “It was brilliant and incredibly moving to see what an impact the renovation had on the well-deserving Smith family.
“The overall finish was again fantastic, thanks to the DIY SOS team, and we look forward to working with them again in the not-too-distant future.”
