Ahead of the business’s launch in 2017, Mortgages4Life has appointed the former Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) director Michael Coogan as its independent chairman, after receiving full FCA regulatory approval recently.
Coogan worked as a director for CML for 15 years, and with 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry for various different companies he has a great track record and seems the perfect choice to guide this new company successfully from the beginning.
“After leaving Deloitte UK, and following a long and successful time at the CML, I stepped down from active engagement in the mortgage market” commented the future Mortgages4Life independent chairman. “It has taken an exciting, innovative new company offering me an opportunity to influence future growth in a key mortgage segment – lending to older borrowers – to entice me back.”
The new company will be based in Peterborough, and the launch day is reportedly just around the corner and expected for early on in the new year, and its services will be available through financial advisors and mortgage brokers only.
The chief executive of Mortgages4Life is Simon Little, who comes with 30 years of valuable experience in the financial services industry, where he worked for companies such as GE Life and Canada Life during what has been a successful career so far.
“We are delighted Michael has agreed to join us as chairman” commented Little. “His appointment is testimony to the commitment we have to the later life lending market and underlines the integrity with which we will conduct our business with both financial advisers and their clients.”
Both Little and Coogan will be working alongside a very strong team in 2017, and the early signs seem very promising in terms of what we can expect from the new business, with knowledge and experience certainly appearing to be the key focus during the recruitment process.
