A new Director of Health has been appointed at Gleeds. Neil McMullen has been appointed for the role within the business’ health team. The International property and construction company has more than 130 years’ experience in the property and construction industry and it is thought that more than 1600 staff work for the company across 66 different offices.
Neil McMullen will be joining Gleeds from Currie & Brown. In his previous position, McMullen was regional director and as well as experience of holding a senior position in a company, Neil has more than 25 years’ experience in the construction industry. Neil McMullen also has more specialist knowledge of the health sector with will hopefully enable him to be successful in his new role at Gleeds. Neil is thought to be highly regarded in his field of work and currently sits on the Financial and Commercial Working Group of the Department of Health’s ProCure 22, formerly the P21+. As part of this Group, Neil works to represent the interests of the NHS Trusts. McMullen also worked as a part of the Department of Health’s P21 and NEC contract training programme. Neil has also been a consultee for both NHS guidance and publications including the Healthcare Premises Costs Guides. All of this experience will allow Neil McMullen to play and important role at Gleeds in advising the NHS about best practice and cost control for construction work obtained by the company across the UK.
Neil will be based at Gleeds Southampton office but will have a workload that spreads across the UK. One of his new roles will be leading the company’s healthcare partnering frameworks with the aim of developing the health professional team.
Currently, Gleeds is working with Airedale NHS Foundation Trust on their P21+ Acute Assessment Unit as well as Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals and the NHS Foundation Trust on a range of different P21+ projects.
