East Anglian estate agency Fenn Wright has completed the purchase of chartered surveyors and estate agents Thorntons for a fee yet to be disclosed, which falls perfectly in line with the company’s long term growth strategy to expand and enhance its service into Sudbury.
Fenn Wright is the leading company in its industry within this particular region, and the new office on Market Hill takes the amount of properties owned to eight, as the firm acquires Thorntons which is a very compatible move and sees two businesses with a very similair outlook becoming one.
Sam Thornton, who founded Thorntons in 1989, is highly thought of in Sudbury and will be joining the new branch as an Associate Partner, as he brings his wealth of experience in the industry to the table that has come from a career spanning 30 years.
“I’m really looking forward to joining the team at Fenn Wright” commented Thornton, who will be working alongside a team of eight including a mixture of both Fenn Wright and Thorntons staff. “I don’t see it as a sad day that Thorntons is closing, I see it as an exciting step forward. I am delighted to still be in the heart of the local community.”
The team will also include Graham Buxton who is a partner at Fenn Wright, and altogether the eight individuals bring with them a vast amount of experience and knowledge, which will really help in giving the new branch for the company a great head start.
Alan Williams, a Managing Partner at Fenn Wright, also commented, “The acquisition of Thorntons wholly complements our strategy to expand our branch network and offer residential sales and lettings to more homeowners and tenants in the region.”
The new office on Market Hill will be open for business on the 12th December once it has been refitted, in what are exciting times for everybody involved with Fenn Wright.
