Statement lighting, colourful patterns and children’s bedrooms filled with mythical creature designs look set to be the top interior trends for 2022, according to new research by Etsy[1]. Showcasing a fusion of the latest trends for next year alongside statement furniture pieces is Millwood Designer Homes’ brand new show home at Lillybank in Battle, East Sussex. Dressed by leading interior designers Phoenix, The Barnham show home is now open and available to preview before it officially launches on Saturday 8th January, where homeowners can start their new year ahead of the interior game.
Susan White, Founder of Phoenix Interior Design, comments: “We worked alongside Millwood Designer Homes to dress the property and create an atmosphere that tugs on the heart strings. We wanted to show buyers the beautiful potential of these homes. The moment you walk through the front door, you are greeted with a serene environment characterised by pastel shades of blues, lilacs, greens, pinks and neutrals. We put careful thought into creating a fresh, tranquil, and coastal vibe while keeping the entire look elegant and sophisticated.”
The Barnham, the beautiful new show home at Lillybank, is a spacious and stylish four bedroom detached home. On entrance to the property, the hallway leads into a dining room to the left, and a large living room to the right, with a brick fireplace and wood burning stove, as well as French doors leading out into the rear garden. To the rear of the property is the hub of the home, a family/kitchen/breakfast room with ample space for the family to enjoy time together. The kitchen comes complete with a number of high-quality integrated appliances including a fridge/freezer, dishwasher and double oven with grill. The kitchen also leads into a separate utility room, providing welcome extra space for busy family life.
Susan continues: “The flooring in the open-plan kitchen and dining area is fitted with straight wooden flooring stretching over the utility, hallway, and cloakroom to bring cohesion. One of the most colourful rooms in the house is the dining room with splashes of colour from the plate settings, seat pads and decor, which contrasts against the wooden elements and makes it appealing to the eye.”
“The spacious living room provides seating in the form of a teal sofa that guests can lay back and relax on, and dove grey upholstered armchairs. Multiple decor touches from lamps, contemporary landscape artwork and floral arrangements in vases enhance the living space. Each bedroom has been styled with its own unique character, colour palette and personal touches, to make it a cosy escape.”
Upstairs, The Barnham enjoys a stylish master bedroom with double fitted wardrobes and an en suite shower room. Three further equally-sized bedrooms provide the perfect adaptable space for children’s bedrooms, guest bedrooms, home offices or hobby rooms. A large family bathroom completes the first floor. The Barnham also benefits from an electronically operated double garage.
Susan concludes: “One of our favourites is the children’s bedroom which is a fun and interactive space filled with medieval-themed features to love. We drew our inspiration for this room from the Battle of Hastings which was one of the closest battles fought in medieval history. We included features such as a medieval dressing up play canopy, dragon mobiles and other Middle Age accessories to bring this important piece of the location’s history into the home. The wallpaper in the children’s room was sustainable and some of the items of furniture are made with FSC wood, ensuring that we are doing what we can to be as sustainable as possible within the budget and brief.”
Philip Brown, Sales and Marketing Director at Millwood Designer Homes, comments: “We’re thrilled to have launched our fantastic first show home at Lillybank. The team at Phoenix have done a great job in reflecting the heritage of the area through the interior design, whilst still ensuring the property evokes the feel of a traditional Millwood home. Visitors to this new show home will be able to really envisage themselves living at Lillybank, which can provide an important aspect in helping them make their buying decision.”
