Vistry Kent hosted a visit by its joint venture partners, Wates Developments, to showcase progress at the partnership’s Pippins Place location in West Malling.
The housebuilder is delivering 250 new homes under its Bovis Homes brand at the development – the first joint project between Wates Developments and Vistry Group’s Kent region.
Around 40 employees from Wates Developments head office in Leatherhead made the trip to the site off the A20 London Road, where they were shown around the show homes and sales office, and also got to see various new homes at different stages of construction.
When completed, Pippins Place will comprise 150 properties for private sale and 100 affordable homes for low-cost rent or shared ownership, as well as areas of green open space – including a country park, children’s play area and orchard – covering more than half of the 44-acre site.
Mary McHutchison, regional sales director for Vistry Kent, said: “We are proud to be working in partnership with Wates Developments and it was a pleasure to welcome their team to Pippins Place so they could see how the build on this exciting project is progressing.
“The development will not only deliver much-needed private and affordable homes but will also include several measures to improve biodiversity such as bird boxes, badger and hedgehog highways, and the provision of more than 20 acres of green open space.
“We hope the team enjoyed their visit and look forward to strengthening our relationship with Wates Developments on this and other projects in the future.”
Wates Developments specialises in land, planning, and residential development, securing land and delivering planning consents in urban and sustainable edge-of-settlement locations where new homes are needed.
The company has worked on joint ventures with Vistry’s housebuilding brands – which include Linden Homes, Bovis Homes and Countryside Homes – for the past 19 years, delivering over 5,000 homes across 27 developments in that time.
Natalie Flint, Residential Investment Director at Wates Developments, said: “Visits such as this are a great opportunity for us to showcase to our colleagues the projects that we are delivering and also to meet up with the leadership, sales and build teams from our joint venture partners.
“Our trip to Pippins Place was particularly significant as this development represents our first joint venture with Vistry Kent. Paul Ley, construction director, and Tom Dazell, operations director, gave us an extremely warm welcome. We were all truly impressed by the presentation of the site and best practices displayed there.
“Our joint venture partners are doing a sterling job at Pippins Place and we look forward to continuing this partnership with Vistry Kent and seeing the site’s evolution into a sustainable new community.”
