Cloud communicator shares future insight
The first in a series of Technology Open Days staged by Saville Audio Visual was held in the historic venue of One Great George Street, in central London on the 19th May.
The well attended ‘AV Connect – Smarter Working in a Connected World’ highlighted the potential of MS Lync technology and featured solutions for interactive collaboration, digital signage, projection and display, plus pro audio and maintenance services.
Exhibits included the latest technologies from many of the leading AV and videoconferencing manufacturers, but the main attraction was a well-received live presentation from Piers Linney, Co-CEO of Cloud Services Provider Outsourcery and former investor on the hit BBC2 programme Dragons’ Den.
His presentation gave a unique insight into the development of consumer and business technologies, their impact within the Unified Communications arena and the opportunities offered by the ‘cloud’.
Of the event, Linney said: “The latest figures from the International Data Corporation show that total cloud spending will grow by 21 per cent year-on-year in 2015, so we are clearly coming to a significant point in the IT and communications market for businesses looking to the cloud. At Outsourcery, we know that to fulfil the needs of that market, we need to work with best in class partners, in order to deliver a full range of cloud services that really benefit end-users – partners like Saville Audio Visual. Events like Saville AV Connect enable us to work together in the true spirit of that partnership, delivering the latest updates around cloud-based Unified Communications, in particular the opportunity represented by Skype for Business.”
Other MS Lync-related presentations delivered in the seminar theatre included Smart Room System Collaboration, Videoconferencing integration with Lync and Managed Services for VC.
Newly appointed Saville Sales and Marketing Director, Andy Dyson said: “With many employees working remotely or from different environments, including office and home-based working, businesses are experiencing a large shift in demands on their communications infrastructure.
“Addressing the role of MS Lync and its effect on improving communication and collaboration strategies for the future is a key issue for any forward-thinking organisation.”
Registration is already open for the next AV Connect technology open day covering the North of England, on the 6th October in Leeds. Visit saville-av.com/avconnect for more details.
