Graysons wins catering deal at the Crick
The Francis Crick Institute in London has awarded a three-year contract to catering business Graysons.
The deal, which is expected to generate in excess of £6 million in total turnover, will see Graysons manage the Institute’s staff restaurant and staff cafe as well as run the public cafe and provide hospitality services for meetings and events.
The Francis Crick Institute is a consortium of six of the UK’s most successful scientific and academic organisations – the Medical Research Council, Cancer Research UK, the Wellcome Trust, University College London, Imperial College London and King’s College London.
A new laboratory for the institute, located next to St Pancras is currently under construction and is due to be completed later on in the year. The Institute and Graysons are currently working together to plan and manage the catering for the migration of staff to the new premises. Once the institute becomes fully operational in early 2016, it will employ 1,500 staff, including 1,250 scientists.
Commenting on the contract win, Matt Thomas, head of Soft FM at the Francis Crick Institute said:
“We put together a very rigorous and challenging tender process in order to find a catering partner who has the same ethos, vision, and quality as the institute.”
Simona Oproiu, business development director at Graysons added:
“This is such an amazing contract for us, to work with such passionate and great people who have such vision and who want their catering services to be modern and fresh and innovative. We are so proud to have secured the contract and to be a partner for the Crick and it cements our strategy for growth in the business and industry sector in central London.”
