Helistrat renews recycling deal with Interxion
Helistrat, has renewed its recycling agreement with Interxion, a European provider of carrier and cloud-neutral data centre services.
The renewed contract will see the environmental consultancy and contract management partner extend and develop its recycling and resource management services for Interxion’s City of London data centre campus.
The solution aligns with Interxion’s commitment to delivering a sustainable operation as it continues to strive for new ways to optimise energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and increase recycling.
Helistrat will optimise the value of the recyclable paper, plastic and cardboard produced by Interxion in London to deliver a zero-waste-to landfill solution. Any residual waste will be sent to manufacture a Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), to be used in the production of sustainable energy. The solution will also see the collection of food waste for recycling, and this will further improve the quality of the recyclable material produced.
Commenting on the renewal, Harvey Laud, director at Helistrat said:
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Interxion and to support them in maximising their environmental performance. This solution improves the quality and quantity of the secondary resources produced by Interxion and their customers. This in turn enables us to maximise its value and deliver an environmentally and financially sustainable service.”
Helistrat will also provide Interxion staff with education and ‘toolbox talks’ to help improve awareness and understanding of the enhanced recycling services across the organisation. This will include recycling inductions for all staff, training for cleaners, recycling posters and monthly reports.
