Nottingham Trent University Witness Major City Refurbishments
Over 80 students studying courses of architecture at Nottingham Trent University were able to benefit from a field trip to the city center in order to see the fantastic new property development of Hounds Gate Court. BSP Holdings have masterminded the project to refurbish the overall building in the center of Nottingham, which covers an impressive ground of 30,000 square feet and is four floors high. What was once a space for office work is now being reworked and rebuilt into a grand total of 43 residential apartment spaces. Through this private tour, the students of Nottingham Trent University were able to see the tools of the trade being implemented by professional land developers and were able to gain a first-hand experience of what it is like to bring a project from the page to the worksite.
Indeed, the project itself is so ambitious and complex that it will its development has been divided into different stages, the first of which is scheduled to be fully finished by this summer in the month of August. Richard Singh of BSP Holdings was delighted to show the wide-eyed students the advancements of his company and show them the different processes that are put in place on a construction site that cannot be taught in a seminar room. They were able to ask questions and communicate with the staff members whose job it was to ensure the successful completed construction of the site and the day as a whole was reportedly a successful one in ensuring that the students were able to get out of the lecture theater and enjoy some communication with onsite professionals who had made a career of the subject of their studies.
Testament to the day’s success was provided by one of Nottingham Trent University, Ali Dumas, who in all his four years of study had never been to a functioning site before. The experience for him at least must have been an enlightening one.
