FC United of Manchester’s new £5.5 million, 4,440 capacity stadium, which was officially opened earlier this year and celebrates the club’s 10th anniversary, features first class flooring from leading adhesive supplier Bostik UK.
Stockport-based flooring contractors Siteform recommended that the EVO-STIK Premier league football club should contact Bostik, owner of the EVO-STIK brand, to see if the company could help in the construction stages of the new Broadhurst Park stadium by supplying its market leading range of professional flooring solutions.
Katharine Egerton at Bostik, commented: “This is an exciting project for a club and its supporters that in football terms is in its infancy, but has ambitions of climbing up the leagues and challenging its bigger footballing brothers in Manchester. When we were approached to support this project we were delighted to help in any way we could.”
Bostik supplied enough product to satisfy the contractors needs for the flooring in the new stadium’s main 250 sq m function room. The company’s local technical representative also worked in partnership with Siteform to oversee the installation.
Stewart Lacey at Bostik said: “A key consideration in the specification process was the high level of footfall anticipated in the main function room as well as the club’s urgent need to meet the completion date of the build process.
“Siteform specified a full system of subfloor preparation products from Bostik, including Screedmaster One Coat Membrane, Screedmaster Universal Primer, Screedmaster Ultimate Smoothing Compound and Bostik Laybond Pressure Sensitive Adhesive. They were confident this system would help them complete the job on time and to the high standards required by the client.”
Andy Walsh, general manager at FC United of Manchester, concluded: “Bostik were brilliant. They got back to us immediately and within a few days had supplied everything needed for the contractors to carry out the work. We couldn’t ask for a better league sponsor!”
