It has been revealed that an expansion of the leading boutique hotel in Belfast is protected by a new and upgraded fire safety system. The £60 million expansion project has had an upgraded fire safety system that also includes Kentec’s sector control panel technology built in to the centre of the safety system.
Phase one of the multi-million-pound expansion was completed in December 2016. Is has been predicted that the whole project will finish later on this year. The first phase of the extension created 50 bedrooms as well as a new Linenhall Business centre that will hold conferencing function rooms and events space. It is thought that the second phase of the project will include a 66-bedroome expansion that will take place at the other side of the original building to phase one and will encompass the former Scottish Amicable Building located on Donegall Square. As part of the second phase of work there will also be a spa and gym added. It is thought that the expansion will increase the capacity of the hotel to over 140.
The new Specialised Fire & Security system that will include Kentec’s control panel technology has been installed in the new areas of the building. As part of the networked fire safety system of the new areas, there has also been an upgrade of the old system in the established building that required the replacement of the existing control panel. Used on this project was Kentec’s flagship Syncro series, which is an open protocol system that is seen as one of the most powerful systems of its type available on today’s market. The Syncro system promises the highest possible standard of performance for safety and reliability that is required by leading edge life-safety installations.
Kentec’s Syncro series of fire control panels adopts microprocessor technology that is the most advanced available in order to deliver a control system that has an extremely high level of integrity. The Syncro system can be configured in order to suit all types of safety systems and it is fully integrated in to a secure network in order to offer an intelligent interface to be used for building control.
