Staycity Aparthotels is a privately owned company that offers the short term lettings for apartments and aparthotels in a number of central city locations. The company has opened two new properties in Lyon and Marseille. It has been revealed that these two new locations have managed high occupancy figures as well as going above the budget expectations in their first month of training.
Staycity Centre Vieux Port was opened in a popular location in Marseille. The 108-apartment property is located in the city’s old port area and is a short walk away from the Colbert Hotel de Region Metro. The Staycity property has seen occupancy of more than 80% through March, and it is thought that this month will exceed this.
The new Lyon location that has been opened by Staycity is a 144-apartment building that has been purpose built. The building opened in early March and is also said to be ahead on their budget expectations. The property, Staycity Lyon Rue Garibaldi offers studio as well as one bed apartments that are located in the Lyon 7 district. This means that the apartments are a brief walk away from the old and historic centre of the city, and is 10 minutes outside of the business hub and train station.
These two properties have added to the Staycity portfolio. The business has more than 3,000 apartments that stretch across 10 different European cities which include Birmingham, Dublin, Birmingham and London. The brand is expected to be opening another property in Manchester later this year and will also present its new premium offerings in London at The Strand. The company has plans for expansion, and wants to have 15,000 apartments opened by 2022. This expansion would support Staycity’s place as one of the leading operators in the aparthotel sector. Staycity have appointed a new director, Markus Beike, who will oversee the company’s work in Germany & CEE. This appointment has been made in order to focus the expansion of the company in Germany, Austria and Eastern European markets.
