Bituchem’s specialist Natratex surfacing material is continuing to prove a popular choice for new housing developments as it sees more applications across the UK.
Natratex, Bituchem’s leading material, has been used to create footpaths, roads and driveways in residential areas, including a recent development in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire.
Approximately 2000 sq m of Bituchem’s Natratex Cotswold was applied around the new site, providing residents with attractive and hard-wearing new roads and pathways. The material contrasts with the traditional black asphalt that surrounds the site, while also complementing the colours of the newly built houses.
Natratex Cotswold is as hard-wearing as it is attractive, offering the same durable, high-performance qualities as traditional asphalt technology. The material is designed and tested to withstand regular pedestrian and light vehicular use and is created using a specialist clear synthetic binder and naturally-occurring, coloured aggregates to offer a fully compact finish.
Once applied, Natratex is virtually maintenance-free and maintains its colour for a long-lasting finish. The smooth surface is also considerably safer than other alternatives, such as concrete, as it is resistant to cracks and potholes and does not create a trip hazard to pedestrians.
Besides the natural-looking Cotswold finish, Natratex is also available in a range of colours and finishes, including gravel, red and salmon. Bituchem has also developed a striking coloured range, Natratex Prime, to give architects and specifiers extra flexibility when designing new landscapes.
Natratex can be used for new construction, overlays or regeneration projects and is very environmentally friendly with a fast and simple application. This makes it a particularly popular choice for housing developments as its helps to keep within the project timescale.
Bituchem has developed Natratex to provide a porous solution for areas that are susceptible to local flooding, as well as a heavy duty option for areas that form a part of a main road or see increased vehicle activity.
