Peel Land and Property’s £5 million regeneration scheme at Liverpool Waters has officially begun with the ground-breaking ceremony for Plaza 1821 that marks the beginning of a construction session at Princes Dock. The £21 million sixteen-storey residential tower will house 105 one and two bedroom apartments together with amenity space on the ground floor.
The real estate enterpriser acts on behalf of Regenda Group and, when finished, Plaza 1821 will be owned and managed by Redwing Living, a Regenda subsidiary. This development is the first to undergo construction since Peel unveiled its vision for the Liverpool Waters site ten years ago. Two more buildings will begin construction ay Princes Dock in the future: Your Housing Group’s Hive City Docks and Moda Living’s The Lexington.
“2017 was a breakthrough year for Liverpool Waters so it is fitting that the first building work now starts this year. 2018 will be a significant year for the project and Plaza 1821 marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter here and we are looking forward to seeing our vision for Liverpool Waters becoming a reality,” said Lindsey Ashworth, development director at Liverpool Waters.
The Liverpool Waters development moved into its delivery phase starting with last year’s masterplan for Central Dock. Significant progress was also made on the plans for the new Liverpool cruise and Isle of Man ferry terminals.
