David Wilson Homes has donated a sum of £1,000 to Kilbarchan Primary School, with the aim of helping the school with arts project.
The donation gives the school a major helping hand towards meeting its overall fundraising target of £6,000 by 2018.
The fundraising drive is being led by the school’s new head teacher Fiona MacKenzie, with the money to be used to purchase equipment to facilitate arts projects.
With these funds, concerts and exhibitions will be elevated to a much higher standard by purchasing professional high quality AV equipment.
Karen Hamilton, from Kilbarchan Primary School Parent Council, said: “The school will benefit hugely from having proper equipment. At the moment the children are working extremely hard on their productions and some of that magic is lost because the audience can’t hear the children properly.”
Estelle Sykes, sales director at David Wilson Homes, explained: “It’s great to see the school using this donation to nurture the arts within the school. It’s so important that schools are able to give children a platform to showcase their creative talents and we’re just happy we could help, in part, with their fundraising.”
David Wilson Homes is owned by Barrat Developments plc who sold 17,319 homes in the year to June 2016. The business now hopes that the children will have at least as much fun and success with their projects as the company who funded them.
