L&Q launches new collection of London Living Rent homes in green neighbourhood

With new studies showing a connection between living near green space and living longer*, L&Q’s launch of brand-new London Living Rent homes in Hendon couldn’t come at a better time.

Nestled amongst a wealth of green spaces in this popular North London hotspot is Rookery Grove, an L&Q development bringing a range of one-, two- and three-bedroom LLR apartments to market this March. A testament to the development’s popularity and affordability, L&Q’s last collection of London Living Rent homes at Rookery Grove was fully let within just five months.

A Mayor of London and Government-backed initiative, London Living Rent creates much-needed opportunities for Londoners to save for a deposit whilst renting. The scheme is designed to enabler middle-income Londoners to rent a home at a discounted rate, compared to renting property on the open market, in order to take their first step onto the property ladder.

Andrea Palmer, Head of LLR at L&Q comments, “Our upcoming launch of one- to three-bedroom homes will expand the Rookery Grove community, an exciting new development that will ultimately comprise a total of 387 homes.

“With a variety of plot types available, Rookery Grove combines the best of urban living with city connections in the heart of Hendon. In addition to the fantastic public parks and nature reserve nearby, our LLR homes offer a huge amount of choice when it comes to getting outdoors this spring.”

Rookery Grove has been designed to enhance residents’ lives and foster social cohesion. A range of features are included with L&Q’s homes, including bicycle storage, integrated kitchen appliances and generous internal storage. Every home offers a large private balcony or terrace.

Hendon residents benefit from proximity to an array of open green spaces, which provide an all-important respite from the busy city streets. Rushgroves Park is situated on the doorstep of Rookery Grove, with Sunny Hill Park a fourteen-minute cycle away and Hampsted Heath a bus ride away. Plus, Woodfield Park, Brent Reservoir, and Fryent Country Park are perfect spots to explore at the weekend. The reservoir, which is known locally as the Welsh Harp, offers opportunities for scenic walks, and a wide range of outdoor leisure activities.

Hendon’s long-established suburban heritage means there are amenities and community assets rarely found in Central London. In the local area, the bustling streets of Hendon have an abundance of charming local cafes and fantastic restaurants. Along Edgware Road, towards Colindale are some excellent cafes and Asian restaurants, among them the must-visit site for East Asian street food, Bang Bang Oriental. For further retail options, Brent Cross Shopping Centre is only 10 minutes away and Westfield London is accessible in just 30 minutes. The development is situated within the Brent Cross Cricklewood scheme, one of the biggest regeneration projects in Europe, which will see 150 retail stores, 50 restaurants, cinema and hotel delivered nearby alongside new residential quarters. Plus, for Rookery Grove residents, there is a large Sainsbury’s on the doorstep which offers a one-stop shop for all the essentials.

Rookery Grove also benefits from excellent transport links including two Northern line stations, Hendon Central and Colindale both within walking distance. Meanwhile nearby Hendon Railway Station offers ThamesLink services with speedy journeys into Central London as well as Luton and Gatwick Airports. Rookery Grove also benefits from excellent road links, sitting close to the M1, A41 and the North Circular with easy access to the whole of the UK.
